Beeswax wraps are natural alternatives to aluminum foil and plastic wrap. What's more, they contain no harmful microplastics. However, even with beeswax wraps, the quality of the ingredients matters: Make sure that the cloths are produced regionally and that only certified organic ingredients are used. After all, only safe products should come into contact with your food!
How long do beeswax wraps last? - The lifespan of beeswax wraps depends slightly on how they are used. On average, you can use them for 1-2 years. If you mainly use them to cover bowls and containers, the cloths will last longer than if you regularly wrap food in them. If you feel that your wrap could use a little refreshing, you can give it new life with a DIY wax. How hygienic are beeswax wraps?

How hygienic are beeswax wraps? - When used and cared for properly, beeswax wraps are just as hygienic as any other type of packaging. What's more, beeswax has antibacterial properties and is therefore naturally suitable for wrapping food! Caution is advised solely with meat, fish, and cold cuts: Since beeswax wraps can only be cleaned with cold or lukewarm water, it cannot be ruled out that bacteria may still be present on the cloth after washing. Therefore, it is better to use other packaging options for these.

For what purpose are beeswax wraps suitable? - Beeswax wraps are a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to aluminum foil and plastic wrap.
