Care Instructions for Swiss Pine & More

Many of our products are unique, handcrafted pieces made from fine, high-alpine wood.
Please note the following for the product, which has been crafted with the utmost care and craftsmanship:

Care

The wood is rich in resin, the surface is smooth and therefore resistant to dirt. It requires no further treatment such as oiling or waxing. If you miss the typical Swiss stone pine scent, or if the wood has some unsightly stains (fruit, paint, etc.): Take some fine sandpaper and gently sand the wood. Then it will be clean again and smell as if it had just come from the carpenter's workshop. You can also 'repair' minor dents in Swiss stone pine wood: Take a damp cloth (e.g. a tea towel), place it over the 'dent' and run a hot iron over the area.

Cleaning

Clean Swiss stone pine wood without dishwashing liquid, wash out with warm water. Important: the wet wood should dry slowly. Quick drying on a stove or heater could lead to cracking in the wood.

Colour

It is natural for Swiss stone pine wood to darken slightly over time.

Warning!

Swiss stone pine is a relatively soft wood. Improper handling (cutting and hammering on the wood) can therefore make pressure and cut marks visible. Swiss stone pine is not suitable for the dishwasher, oven or microwave!
