Admittedly, our ancestors, from whose time the ‘Urtyp’ design originates, had no need to linger at a bar. Adapted to today’s needs, there is no reason not to integrate the perfect forms of the past into the present. The farmhouse chairs are somewhat reminiscent of the playful Baroque, the ‘peasant Baroque’ of the Alpine region. Characteristics of a rustic style that is now being revived. A way of life that more and more people appreciate.

Although this chair is new, it has been crafted according to time-tested original plans for farmhouse chairs and adapted to modern requirements. The construction and seat comfort have been continuously developed and adjusted over centuries. This chair shape has become established in the Alpine region over the last few decades and delights with its seating comfort. Only the height of the chair has changed over time. Nowadays, seating at work surface and bar height is in demand. The rounded and slightly inclined backrest (10°- 15°) supports the spine, and the body is further stabilized by the slightly dished seat surface. The cut-out heart in the backrest is as much an eye-catcher as it is a convenient aid for moving or carrying this all-around comfortable solid wood chair.
