The impregnated cotton cloth is handmade regionally in Austria – from certified organic beeswax, regionally produced tree resin, GOTS-certified cotton, and organic sunflower oil.
You can fold, bend, crumple, or knead our beeswax wrap. The warmth of your hands makes it pliable, so it naturally adheres to plates, bowls, or to itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is wax cloth suitable for food? - Yes, absolutely! Beeswax wraps are natural alternatives to aluminum foil and plastic wrap. What's more, they contain no harmful microplastics. However, even with beeswax wraps, the quality of the ingredients matters: Make sure that the cloths are produced regionally and that only certified organic ingredients are used. After all, only safe products should come into contact with your food!
How hygienic are beeswax wraps? - When used and cared for properly, beeswax wraps are just as hygienic as any other type of packaging. What's more, beeswax has antibacterial properties and is therefore naturally suitable for wrapping food! Caution is advised solely with meat, fish, and cold cuts: Since beeswax wraps can only be cleaned with cold or lukewarm water, it cannot be ruled out that bacteria may still be present on the cloth after washing. Therefore, it is better to use other packaging options for these.
For what purpose are beeswax wraps suitable? - Beeswax wraps are a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to aluminum foil and plastic wrap. They are highly versatile in everyday life: You can use them to cover bowls and containers in the refrigerator, wrap cut fruit and vegetables, pack a sandwich, or even freeze cakes and herbs in them. These are just a few examples of the versatility of beeswax wraps.
Our insider tip: We also use beeswax wraps to carry a damp washcloth for sticky children's fingers! An environmentally friendly alternative to single-use wet wipes.
If your beeswax wrap one day smells strange or changes color, it is time for a new chapter: dispose of it in the compost or cut it up and crumple it. This way, it can still serve you well as a charcoal starter for the barbecue.
