The benefits of a raised bed are numerous. Tending and harvesting without having to bend down, increased growth due to optimal air circulation through the upper layers, protection from unwanted intruders from below and gardening enjoyment on the balcony or terrace are the main advantages. With an additional cold frame top, the homegrown delicacies are perfectly protected from cold and frost and they grow faster. The top can be used throughout the entire gardening season. The plants are also protected from hail and heavy rain in summer. If required, the roof panels can also be removed, which still protects delicate plants from the wind.

In spring we can hardly wait until the plants shine in full splendor again. As so often, the weather can throw a wrench in our plans. In the event of a late cold snap, the still delicate little plants can be damaged or even freeze to death.
With a cold frame top, it is possible to sow or plant 3 - 4 weeks earlier. Also used in autumn, the harvest season in your own garden is considerably longer.
The cold frame top consists of a lightweight aluminum frame construction and 6 mm Longlife greenhouse panels. The panels are provided with a No-Drop coating and offer the highest UV resistance (10-year manufacturer's warranty). The glass panels are set in seals. The cold frame top is assembled without clips, making it particularly stable.
If desired, an automatic window opener 'Veggie' can be purchased additionally. The window opener requires no power connection or batteries. The piston is filled with a special oil-wax mixture that expands when heated and shrinks again in the cold. This opens or closes the lid accordingly. The entire construction is made of rust-proof material and all fastening materials for installation in our cold frame top are included.
