Classics are called classics because they have stood the test of time and are loved by people. A classic is reproduced time and again. The 'Classic' wooden bench is one such bench. The image that comes to mind: in front of the house stands this beautiful wooden bench, where the homeowners sit, surrounded by children, watching passers-by. A place to sit back after work, philosophize and relax. This bench is a meeting place, a communications hub. We have reissued this classic bench and had experienced craftsmen from the Alps reproduce it.
We offer the 'Classic' bench in larch. Larch is a good choice because its weather resistance means it can be left outdoors. This bench also looks great indoors. Please note that larch may continue to release a little resin for 5 to 6 months. This is a natural process and is not a defect.
The 'Classic' wooden bench made from unfinished larch is an exceptionally beautiful solid wood bench. Its elegantly curved backrest and seat are a real feast for the eyes. It is so beautiful that it looks just as good indoors as it does outdoors. Everything about this bench is solid and high quality. It embodies the traditional craftsmanship of the Alps. Durable, expertly crafted and extremely sturdy.
Here you can find all the information about our types of wood.Materials and workmanship
The 'Classic' solid wood bench is made from solid larch. The legs are built from thick planks, making this bench very sturdy and giving it great rigidity. The solid slats that make up the seat and backrest are firmly attached to the frame. Despite its truly solid construction, this bench looks very elegant.
This bench is made by a sheltered workshop in the Alps. Experienced master craftspeople bring all their knowledge of wood and woodworking to the process. The result is a valuable, long-lasting piece of furniture. Larch has always proved ideal for outdoor use. It is also popular indoors.
Please note: Untreated larch may release a very small amount of resin during the first 6–9 months. These tiny resin droplets are normal for untreated larch and are not a defect.
Surface treatment
We have left the larch untreated, as it is highly weather-resistant. Larch is traditionally used outdoors because it handles moisture very well. Untreated larch darkens slightly over time. Outdoors, larch develops an elegant silvery-grey patina.
