Raised beds offer many advantages and make working in the garden easier. They look beautiful and even in a small space offer the optimal conditions for growing herbs and your own vegetables. Bending and kneeling are now a thing of the past. By working upright with the raised bed, the back is no longer strained.

• Rodent mesh: A vole mesh is included in the scope of delivery. It is laid on the ground and attached to the side walls. The vole mesh prevents rodents from entering the inside of the raised bed.

Garden tools

• Planting wood: The planting wood made of ash wood is ergonomically designed and combines the highest functionality and simplicity. It is a durable tool with craft quality.
• Garden hoe: The hoe impresses with its robust quality and is ideal for the powerful removal of weeds. The combination of an ash wood handle and precise steel tines makes the tool a durable companion for loosening the soil 
• Hand rake: The hand rake made of first-class steel and lacquered ash wood impresses with robustness and durability. It is suitable for precise work in the raised bed and in hard-to-reach places.
• Planting shovel: The planting shovel consists of high-quality Swedish steel and an ergonomic ash handle. The extremely durable and robust tool is ideal for digging out weeds, digging planting holes and filling containers. 
• Sheep wool pellets: The pellets made of pure sheep's wool (waste product) serve as a natural long-term fertilizer and efficient water storage. The fertilizer continuously releases nutrients to the plants, sustainably loosens the soil and is delivered in a fully compostable packaging made of grass.

Tip

This high-quality raised bed has a filling height of 80 cm. The product is made from domestic mountain larch. Larch is suitable for use outdoors, as it is very resistant to wind and weather. The foundation frames are elaborately galvanized. There is no contact with the soil, therefore no rot occurs and the herbs and plants remain permanently fresh. This raised bed is extremely stable due to the steel foundation frames. The outer handrail is curved and serves for water drainage.

• The steel foundation is a unique feature across Europe, which prevents direct contact between soil and wood and thus no rot can occur on the raised bed. In addition, a snail stop is built into the foundation, which keeps the unwanted visitors from plants away in a natural & gentle way.

  The window opener requires no power connection and no batteries. The piston is filled with a special oil-wax mixture, which expands when heated and shrinks again when cold. This opens or closes the lid accordingly. The entire construction is made of rust-free material and all the mounting materials for installation in our cold frame attachment are included.

Assembly

How do I fill my raised bed?

• After the raised bed is assembled and the vole protection is attached, you can fill the raised bed.
• At the very bottom, approx. 25 cm thick 'wood core' – these are branches, twigs, shrub waste or also root balls. Cover with some soil.
• approx. 10 - 15 cm thick layer with shredded material. Thin branches or very finely cut wood. A layer of cardboard to speed up the start of decomposition.
• approx. 10 - 15 cm decomposed stable manure or horse manure.
  Can also be replaced by half-decomposed compost.
• approx. 20 cm coarse compost or soil.
• Finally fill to the brim with garden soil
