Anyone who does hands-on work knows how important it is to use suitable, well-maintained tools. When it comes to cutting tools in the garden, a sharp blade is essential. A whetstone is used to regularly sharpen—also known as honing—scythes, sickles, billhooks, hoes, etc. The copper holder is filled with water, and the whetstone is soaked in it. The sharpening set can be conveniently carried on your belt while you work. The manual method has remained unchanged for many generations.

Our copper whetstone holder is a quiver-shaped container for a whetstone, known by many names, such as Schlocker, Schlucker or Schiaker. When sharpening the cutting edge of tools, it is important to generate as little frictional heat as possible. Dry sharpening would harden the steel excessively, making it brittle. To prevent this, the holder is filled with water, the whetstone is carried in it and kept moist at all times. The practical belt loop lets you wear the holder and whetstone on your body, close at hand.
Tip: Using copper tools releases tiny amounts of copper into the soil, thereby providing trace element fertilization. This small amount of copper plays an important role in the soil.
