Cones are various forms of the flower and fruit clusters of plants. When people speak of cones, they are mainly referring to woody conifers (among coniferous trees). Their shape ranges from elongated to round cones. The bracts and seed scales are usually arranged spirally in units around an axis. Our cones were not shaped by the tree itself; they are pre-milled from a single piece of Swiss stone pine wood by a manually operated carving machine at a traditional company in South Tyrol, and then individually sanded and inspected. Nature is the model for their shape and proportions. Working with solid wood makes it possible to produce cones in a wide variety of sizes.

Although nature did not shape our Swiss stone pine cones, they are nevertheless made from 100% Swiss stone pine wood. The solid wood is pre-milled using a manually operated carving machine and then individually sanded and inspected. Thanks to this technique, cones in different sizes with natural proportions can be produced in any quantity. All our models are crafted so that the stem can be used as a hanger upon request. Regardless of what the Swiss stone pine cone is used for, it gives off a pleasant fragrance. Placed on the bedside table, the nose will repeatedly catch a hint of its scent; in a decorative bowl among flowers or fruit, in an autumn arrangement, in Christmas wreaths, or as a Christmas tree ornament, the cone is an eye-catcher. Thanks to the built-in hanger, the Swiss stone pine cone can be hung from a cord on windows or in niches, or can further enhance gift wrapping. And then the ‘Tatschel’, as it is also called in Austria, can still be used in the closet as a moth deterrent.
