Natural 10 cm loofah sponge from fair production.
Loofah is actually a gourd plant that is also known as a loofah cucumber. The cucumber, which looks similar to a zucchini, can be eaten normally as a vegetable - however, we do not recommend tasting your dried loofah sponge. In order to use the cucumber as a sponge, it is deseeded, gently dried and cut into slices.
You can also adjust the size of your loofah as desired or, for example, cut off a slice to use as a soap dish. The loofah sponge feels rough and firm when dry - as soon as it gets wet, the fibers become soft but retain their firmness. This allows dead skin cells to be removed optimally and stimulates blood circulation in a positive way. Our unbleached loofah sponge is therefore a chemical- and plastic-free exfoliation. At the end of its lifespan, it can simply be fully composted.
Care instructions
After each use, simply rinse with clear water and squeeze out. To enjoy your loofah sponge for a particularly long time, you should clean it thoroughly once a week. Simply soak it in a 1:1 mixture of water and vinegar for 10 minutes and then let it dry completely. It is recommended to use different sponges for the face, body and intimate area.
Tip: If you are not a fan of sponges for body cleansing, you can also use the sponge for washing dishes or cleaning. We have tested it and think that the loofah cucumber is in no way inferior to a conventional household sponge.
