This genuine sheepskin is a true original—indeed, a one-of-a-kind piece. Each hide therefore varies slightly in shape, color, and length. Genuine, authentic items simply cannot be mass-produced on a drawing board. That is exactly what makes this sheepskin so precious and so real. And life with this sheepskin—whether you use it as a bedside rug, to snuggle up with, or as a decoration—feels genuine, right, and harmonious. Just as if you had made the right choice. Medically tanned sheepskin—the little healthy wonder of nature

A sheepskin has special properties. It helps regulate temperature and immediately absorbs perspiration, which is ideal for babies, for example, as it keeps them warm without making them sweat excessively. Moisture is released into the air very quickly. Sheepskins are naturally antibacterial, which is why they have long been used wherever the skin comes into direct contact with the fleece. This sheepskin also neutralizes odors and repels dirt.

Medical tanning

We offer only medically tanned hides because we want to benefit from nature while protecting it. These medically tanned hides are tanned very gently. No heavy metals or additives such as chromates and aluminum triformate are used. The natural tanning process gives the hide a slightly yellowish color. This color is, so to speak, a mark of quality.

These high-quality, valuable hides are often used in medicine, but babies also feel exceptionally comfortable on them. You can wash the hide at 30°C.

Care

These high-quality sheepskins are ideal for everyday use because they naturally have excellent self-cleaning properties. 

• The self-cleaning properties of a natural sheepskin can be enhanced by fresh air. Simply shake out dust and dirt.
• Remove heavier soiling by combing out the fleece
• Wipe off more stubborn dirt with a damp cloth

None of these hides are industrially manufactured, meaning each one is unique. Length, width, and color may therefore vary slightly.

Color options

• light: whitish to slightly yellowish
• The light-colored option is shorn, making it especially suitable for children, as it can be washed at approx. 30°C (wool wash cycle)
•  dark: dark brown to almost black
• The dark-colored option is not shorn
