The rattle is based on a unique concept: in 1958, at the World's Fair in Brussels, a series of wooden play objects such as the "Raffelfisch" (rattle fish), rings, ball bowls, triple rings, etc., were introduced under the name "Allbedeut". The designer Hugo Kükelhaus (1900-1984), as the mastermind, began developing these "play things" as early as 1939. He created toys from primal forms, for which he coined the terms "Greiflinge" (grasping toys) and "Allbedeut." "Allbedeut" because one can and may imagine all sorts of things with the individual shapes.
