Materials and workmanship

The splitting axe from the 'Krafts' range sits very comfortably in the hand. The ash wood handle is sturdy and ergonomically shaped. The axe blade is made of hand-forged steel and has a clean, precise edge.

Ash wood
Ash grows throughout almost all of Europe, particularly in the northern Alpine foothills. Along with beech and oak, it is one of the most important hardwoods. Ash wood is very dense and hard, yet its high elasticity makes it easy to work with. Thanks to its excellent mechanical properties, ash is used in many fields, including musical instrument making, equipment manufacturing, sports equipment and tool handles.

The splitting axe handle 
The handle is made of ash wood and ergonomically shaped. Ash is an ideal wood for high-quality garden tools. It is sturdy and durable, as well as pleasant to the touch. The wood is varnished to protect it better against moisture and dirt and to prevent splinters from penetrating the skin.

The axe blade is made of high-quality steel that is exceptionally durable thanks to its special treatment.
